Best is to say you are going for a holiday, it will only be mindfield if you try the work visa route.

thats not great advice. If you get found out as your working on a visa waiver then you'll never get into the US again.

As its a UK couple, presumably paying you in GBP its a bit different - you're technically not taking any money into or out of the USA so there's a little grey area there.

You'll just have to stick out the queues and ask the embassy. I've been in the US as a musician and was able to get a temp visa no problem. The last thing you want is to get into a visa wrangle with US passport control:(

Need a bit more info.

Are they traveling to the US to get married.
And you are travelling as a pro to shoot the wedding.
Are you getting paid for the job.

In which case you will need to get to the American Embassey, and get the right Visa.

:)

I wont go into too much detail on a public forum, but I previously had an assistant job in Amercia and went through the ESTA route i.e. no business Visa. I had a few flights across America and at every airport I was stopped, questioned and had my bags/suitcase searched because of the kit I had with me. PM if you want more details ;)

In my opinion, not worth the hassle. I imagine I had a lot less kit than you will be taking, so it probably wont be worth the risk of not making it to the wedding!
