Hey,
In a couple of weeks time i am going on holiday to cornwall and i am going to take the camera with me to try an get some shots. As we are only a short walk from a each i wanted to take some shots on the beach, anyway now its closer to the time im a bit worried because of all the dust ect. I do have a rocket blower so thats ones thing i think will come in handy.

Are there any extra protection methods i should be doing or any tips about shooting on a beach, i know about not changeling lenses on a beach but what else shouldn't i do ? Is there any kit i should have ?

Thanks

In short...... NO. Obviously dont set it on the sand or anything but apart from that, the beach is no different to anywhere else. TBH I do alot of landscapes and seascapes and sometimes I do change the lens on the beach. Obviously not during a sand storm or when its raining but if you are carful I dont see it as being a problem.

Like you've said... changing the lens is a big no no!

Don't lay it down on the sand... keep it strapped round your neck so you don't drop it... take a towl or something so if you do get sand on your hands you can brush it off.

Beachs are great places for photography! Don't be afraid... just act like you're in normal field, if you think about it, they're not really that different... just take a little more care because sand can be more damaging. :)

Hope this helps.

Cheers guys i suspected as much it was just me being over careful, Hopefully should all go fine then.

keep the camera under wraps with the sand blowing around..it can get into the focussing ring and a small speck there can work hell on the threads...so wait for a non windy day...really calm

which beaches are you going to
