Ive recently got tickets to visit spa for the Belgium Grandprix. my question is has anyone been before and has anyone got tips on where to take the best pics? ill be using a 18mm to 250mm lens so i got a good range for different spots but you never have enough zoom specially with 250mm. thanks for any advise you people have!

Spa is a great track to shoot at, as long as you don't mind a lot of walking! I don't know what restrictions there are at the Grand Prix, and there are quite a lot of fences, but you can shoot through those quite easily.

The top of Eau Rouge is fantastic, and all around the back of the circuit has loads of elevation and plenty of places where you can get above the fence.

It's a wonderful track, my best advice is be tall  I took my (non-tog) ex for his 21st, and he got much better shots than I did (using my camera, lol, cheeky so-and-so) because he's about a foot taller than little me... but what Mike said, you can shoot through the fences easily. I can't remember the names of any of the corners now, but there's one fantastic steep hill which you can sit on and shoot over everyone else, they come up the straight towards you and round the corner to the left :D

And then I got a few good shots walking on the actual track and across the starting grid when the race was over, which was quite cool :)

Enjoy it, I'm not even an F1 fan and I adored it... I'm rather jealous

If you don't mind a walk, I'm pretty certain theres a few areas that don't have fencing on top of the crash barriers. Though whether these will be accessible to spectators during a F1 race, I couldn't tell you.

Damn me only been 5ft10, dont mind walking at all and we are going to Practice on saturday, qualifying and the Race so ill get a chance for most of the track!Eau Rouge is the reason im going to Belgium and not The german grandprix so ill be trying some shots from there for sure! cheers for the help
