trying to see if there is anything like this on the market

Had a good hunt around and can't find anything this short without a head. The reason I am looking is for something to fit onto the bottom of my camcorder which is only hand widthg around 5 inches long and just screws direct into the camcorder. There are many that extend etc but that is not what I am after.
Has anyone found anything similar?
 
had some serious deep thinking which is strange for me. I forgot I have a 4 inch long gorolla tripod which does the job when the 3 legs are together so saved myself a few bob.
 
Serious deep thinking is always good when it saves you money.:D
 
I do much the same. using the centre column out of a mini slick tripod.
In the picture I have it screwed to the top of my Brasher walking pole to extend the full height to head high. ( as a full height monopod)

Though I had to plug the centre column and put in a 1/4 inch (female) screw insert, to use it that way.

Interesting Terry, what i was after was something without a ball head, something that just screwed straight into the camcoerder. There just doesn't seem to be anything on the market. Yes there are cheapest steadcam arms with weights but having done researh they can tend to swing about if its windy. As I showed in the link in my original post that is the only thing anywhere near but not quite long enough to hold properly. There is another one for use at ground level about 18 inches long but really too long for what I was after.

I've got a mini tripod which screws together - the legs screw into a collar that locks the column in place. I usually take one of the legs and screw it into the camera directly to use as a mini monopod. However, a baby Gorillapod will do the same thing and be more comfortable to hold!
 
Or get a suitable length of Aluminium bar that's an easy size to grip and drill/tap one end to accept a bit of tripod thread studding.
