Shotkit (site)

I think before the end of the year you'll have a 58mm in your bag ( No I'm not buying!) :exit:

He might not have a bag to put it in or a body to put it on, but at least he'll have the lens :D

Great site for taking a peak in the worlds top-togs bags.
Even without viewing the site I can tell you that most pro togs will use top end cameras from the major manufacturers and will use top end lens from the major manufacturers. Wow such a useful website.

You confused my very little brain by discussing a website in a equipment thread. Doesn't take much these days.

This is closer to the truth than i care to imagine!

Wonder how well it performs on a D40...

Should do very nicely as a portrait lens. Used my 50 for that purpose on my D70 (far from my first camera but my first DSLR!) and used my old Tamron 90mm (very similar in terms of effective focal length) on my older film SLRs.

(P.S. That was a serious answer to your serious question!)

To be fair, the first three portrait togs I saw shot with a Polaroid SX-70, Fuji Instax and a £25 neewar video light so an interesting selection all round.
