Should I charge?

No
Recently I agreed to shoot a fashion show for free.

The show was organised by two local clothes companies, all proceeds from ticket sales being given to charity.

Both companies sold garments at the event. Funds from these sales were NOT donated to charity.

I set up my studio lights with the intention of shooting some of the models after the show. It all turned quite comical. Every man, woman, dog and child started queuing up for shots.

So, could I charge a small fee for those gate crashers that want images?

Just make things clear, I am just a hobby photographer.

Cheers.

Theres not many people who get the oppertunity to turn a muched loved hobby into cold hard cash, so whay not?

You agreed to take the pictures for free and you fulfilled that.. You didnt agree to supply the pictures for free... so charge..

however.. didnt this get asked at the time by the people being photographed.. surely they asked how they could get the pics?

If you said its all free then.....erk ..

I'd charge - unless, as Kipax said, you said at the time that they'd be free.

If nothing else it's going to take up your time sorting those photos out for them and you should be compensated for that.

Yes people did ask questions such as how can I get at/ pay for copies of the images. My reply at the time was something along the lines of "You can contact the organiser of the event, or I'll get them to let you know when I've processed the images"

Cheers.

I doubt anyone would be suprised or complain if you charged (so long as not stupidly high) for the pics then.. I mean surely they didn't expect free pictures...100% go for the charge IMHO :)
