Print portfolios

I'm on the look out for a portfolio to store and and allow safe transportation/ presentation of some of my prints.

Ideally the portfolio will have clear pages which turn easily to allow fiddle free viewing of images without taking the prints out. And it'll be reasonably light and made from quality materials.....so that rules out the flimsy plastic things WH smith sell :D

I can't ever imagine it being used to hold anything larger than 18x12 images (whats that in old money?)

A shoulder strap and no naff patterns all over it would be a distinct advantage too.

Muchas Gracias

Have you tried a portfolio box. Images are contained in plastic sleeves that are not fixed. It is easy to slide them from one side of the box to the other as you are viewing them. You can also take the images out to look at them in different light etc. The images also remain totally flat because they are not bent through viewing like the pages of a book. The whole viewing experience is quite slick and it’s easy to quickly remove or add work to the box before a presentation.

Not cheap though, carry case, box and sleeves in A3 will set you back about £150.

Silverprint also do the more regular portfolios.

I did look at boxes while at the focus on imaging show, for me they are a little overkill as i'll only have about 30 images max in there at one time.
Also, opening a box and messing about placing the lid somewhere out of the way (be it aside or under the box) is a hassle i'd rather avoid.

will look at their site though
