Show us your best MOTORSPORT(!) film shots!!

I'm guessing these are film MOTORSPORT/TRANSPORT shots ;)

There is a generic film shots thread in the film forum. I'll see if I have any scanned motorsport images when I get home.

I was scanning some old film shots last week!

I know its not great, but it makes me smile.

It was taken with my dads Zenith at Donington during the transatlantic trophy meet in the 80's. I don't think you can shoot from there anymore..........

Matt

Below are three all taken with a Minolta SRT101.

36 shots in a day was all I could afford and it was a week later before you got your prints back.
Great Days

Chrisbie, That statement about 36 shots and 7 days made me chuckle.

Love the shots in this thread!

Retro motorsport photos are superb :D

Quality not great I was right at the back of the stand, laconi cursing the mickey mouse chicane at silverstone WSB.:bang:

Nori in the lead I see though :)

That's Frankie isnt it on #11?

After reading the first shots thread i thought that we should have a best film shot thread. unfortunatly I havnt got any :(

In that case you need to find a spare tenner and pick up a cheap EOS film body from the bay and get snapping. I really enjoy shooting film alongside digital it really adds to the fun of a days shooting, especially the wait to get the pics back from processing.

Doh stupid me, of course!

First time out with a film camera, never had a clue how to work it, the ISO was far to high but heres on that actaully looks not bad

A local autotest and I took the film camera out again, nothing special due to my bad lack of photography knowledge at the time.

Fantstic shots, I love the old stuff

I'd love to be able to shoot from there now:LOL:

Matt, great idea for a thread. You got me going through the old photos. This is my first attempt at posting a photo ! I thought rallying was under represented in your thread so here is a grainy scan of the awesome Tony Drummond with Dave Richards alongside on the Harewood Hillclimb stage of the 1974 RAC Rally.

Can anyone tell me how to get better results when scanning slides ? PLEASE !
I have photos of Firenzas, Dolomites, etc I would like to share.

Excellent thread Matt, and some excellent old school photos here. I've got loads of film shots going back to about 1999 or so, but no scanner to put them on. This is all I have, from British GT at Oulton Park in 2008 (my last ever shoot with film before I went digital).

I love how the 70's style film also comes with the 70's style hairdo :D

(excuse me if I've got the wrong timeframe, I'm a 90's kid :()

yep it was the early 80's, this one was taken at the same meet. A 13 year old me was stood on the wall (no fencing back then) when Randy Mamola approached and did a nice bit of showboating for me!

A few of mine from the 90's I had a Yashica 35MM Compact. I knew very little about photography.
