Just interested for a bit of fun:)
I noticed that EOS inspector for Mac was free in the App Store, so gave it a try
I connected up my 7D, the shutter count was 70K was surprised it was that high but do use it a lot
I've had it 2 years
My 550D is on 60K
 
not high enough, I need to get out more.

2yrs four hundred and twenty seven thousand......427k on one camera... 200k plus on the other just sold :) so 600 thousand in a little over 2 yrs ...

Do I win ? :)

I had my shutter/sensor/whatever canon thought was wrong with it repaired and they would not give me the shutter count. I said "well i'm your customer and i'm paying you £350 to fix it so can I have it" and they refused!!!! crazy. It's probably very high i expect
 
A paltry 3505 :(

I honestly thought I shot more than that. I was expecting 8k +

I need to win the lottery so I can get out more

Agree with you on quantity over quantity in principle i always end up taking far more shots than i need to to make sure:D

to be fair mines a working camera.. 7 days a week.. think 5 cricket matches every weekend from friday night t20 onwards ...that will be a lot of clicks.. i can easy be out anyhting from 6 to 10 hrs juust taking pics.. not now and then.. but constantly... I have some football tournament in july... it 9am start 7pm finish and all you do all day is click click click.. hand in the memory card and get another.. click click click hour after hour...
 
153 as of this afternoon on one camera, around 25k on another and 125k on one I sold a couple of days ago.

Never worried about a shutter failing, even with 250k on the old 1D
 
Mines over 300,000 and still going strong.
Bought a replacement for when it goes but haven't used it yet.
 
Agree with David i don't worry about the camera wearing out its a tool to use it will be out of date before it wears out
it's interesting though the big differences in shutter counts
I guess it depends what you shoot and of course pros like Kipax use theirs heavily
I've never had a Canon camera go wrong though my original DSLR a 350D is still working although its a bit battered I was still using it as a spare until fairly recently

You can get a program or app like EOS inspector just connect up your camera to your computer and turn the camera on
It will display the shutter count
 
Yer tried that and got a message after the upload "It looks like your camera doesn't supply the necessary information" then goes on to say Check another Camera as if thats of any use :(
So looks like Nikon didn't include the widget in my D7000 ! Oh why didn't i get a 7100 ?????

So i'm gonna guess the count is in the region of 7 million :ty:
 
Just over 17K on the D800E, since Oct 2012

D90 before that had almost 40K over 2 years. I'm learning slowly to think more on my shots.
 
Sorry to bump this thread!! but I have the occasional sticking shutter on my 7D, so I thought I wonder what the shutter count is?! (thinking it'd be right up there).... 18,671.

Poor show IMO! I must get out more, as I've had the camera for 3.5 years now!

EOS Inspector appears to only be for Mac, what is there for Windows?
 
Myshuttercount.co.uk just checked my 1d mk2 and it`s got 97,000 and to think i was going to get rid of it
