Guys,

Just a quickie - can anyone recommend a good bit of software for finding out the shutter count on my D700 please?

Cheers

It's about 77K

Just about "run in" then!

Many thanks all - you're all very kind (and funny) :)

The actual answer (for my D700) is 41330 :)

The D3s could well be 77K - although I would have guessed it was many more than that. I need to shoot more! :D

Only 41330? better not machine gun with a grip fitted!

Preview > Tools > Inspector will do it as well as anything on a Mac

Just tried it, I am shooting in RAW and it does not show the image number. I believe that when shooting in RAW the image number does not show up.

Glad you're familiar with the D700, Yv. Maybe you could take a couple of portraits of J mine, not yours!) and me when you come down -IF I can afford your prices!!! Don't bother bringing your kit though (unless you're down this way on a job!), mine's similar to yours, just slightly less all Nikkor in the 24-70 department. Maybe your preferred portrait lens - working distance about 12'. Background I have in mind matches J's eyes and suits her colouration (I'm rather less photogenic but hopefully will have some teeth by then).
Sorry for the hijack, Ryan, wouldn't have done it had your question not been answered.

it works fine with Nikon RAW, your assumption is incorrect

I just tried it, works fine with Nikon NEF files, but oddly doesn't show with some canon raw files I have on this machine [backups from a 2nd shooter, though it is a 1Ds MkII which may not show shutter count anyway, can't remember if canons reticence about it was on this model or the MkIII]

It doesn't work for Canon at all. It was useful when my father in law gave me his D50 though, made it very easy to get a shutter count!

Still does not work for me.

Just noticed along the top yours say's : General. DNG,Exif,IPTC,Tiff.

Mine say's : General.Exif.IPTC,Tiff.

No DNG, wonder if thats why
