Shutter release for xt1?

Going to get an xt1 soon and use it for some long exposure landscape work, and wanted to ask what the best remote release is for this without having to pay a fortune for the fuji one?

Does the fuji app work well for this or is it better to get a cabled release?

Some Canon ones (jackplug type) plug into the microphone (or is it earphone) socket on the X-T1 and work well as does the Fuji remote app on my Android tablet. Probably going to change my phone from a Windows one to an Android for compactness.

According to the handbook that is officially the microphone/remote release connector.

I have been looking for one (in the above linked thread!) as the App doesn't do Bulb mode (well, not that I can see) and I have a 10 Stop filter so need longer than 30 second exposures.
Not tried one yet, but there is a neewer version on amazon for about £4.50 - got to be worth a punt?

how can you tell the app what shutter speed you want? I can't see bulb mode - maybe i'm blind!.....

As others have said, the Fuji native app is ok but I would urge u give Triggertrap a go (iOS or android app), it's ace I tell thee!
