Hi, nice easy question here...

With my 450D I had a shutter release cable... with it though you got two adaptor cables... one is just like a headphone jack which I used with the 450D the other it the one with 3 holes in it...

Am I right in thinking I can use this with my 50D with no problems?

I don't want to go blow the thing up, ive only had it 30 mins :lol:

Is that a third party cable, with two adapters - one for the 450D and one for the 50D?

It sounds like it, in which case it should work fine.

BTW, you won't blow anything up - it will melt first :D

Every time we've upgraded with canon, we've always needed a different shutter release cable (at least that's how it feels anyway).

Have a check in the back of the manual for your 50D and it will tell you all the accessories that are compatible with it.
