I didn't want to drag this out, but it's a common theme on forums.it is phil but people word things wrong and buy gear they have absolutely no idea how to use then start asking noob questions about a camera that is way way above there ability. i stupidly thought as he had a d7000 he had a problem with his camera but seriously he needs to get on a course or let everyone know he,s new to photography then we can be more helpful/sympathetic. some of his statements are beginner level but he did not suggest he was a beginner in any way. i only sussed that out by looking at his other posts and lots more of the same.and the comment about going on a course even if only a one day beginners course was genuine and not meant to sound derisory. sorry if it sounded that way.
People who struggle to afford the great gear we covet sometimes appear to lash out at newcomers who spend money on great gear because they have the disposable income.
You're factually correct, the OP needs to spend time effort and if necessary cash to learn how to use his gear, but it did come across as harsh (something I'm very familiar with btw
