We all know that slower shutter speeds are required for propellor aircraft and even 1/80 for helicopters. What if I have a 300 or 400 lens on where you are meant to have speed the same as the inverse of the :bang::bonk:focal length to avoid handshake, in other words 1/300 or 1/400 sec. What about prop blur?

This is where IS/OS/VR comes in handy!

A BushHawk also works very well or rest a small beanbag on something and rest your camera/lens on that. Don't worry about what focal length your lens is, no matter how big or small you'll still need to practice. I've seen stunning shots at 1/100th when used with a 600mm lens.

Thanks folks. I have a 70-300 VR and a 70-200 VR f2.8 with 1.7TC. Also a 300f4 with 2xtc ( NOT VR). Not sure which lens to kick off with:bang::bonk:

Just got the 300f4 and TC this week. Autofocus works fine - dealer wasnt sure if it would or not. It's fine. Also have 1.7. For the stupid like me, what is IQ? I suppose it is image quality? Will tell you after tomorrow!! I wanted to get a Siggy 150-500 but was talked out of it by the supplier in favour of the Nikon prime plus TC - dearer of course!!:bonk:
