Hi guys,

I've been taking some practice shots with off camera flash.

I have a correct exposure at f2.8, 1/250, iso 200 and 1/2 power flash.

To be on the safe side I want to move the aperture to f3.2,3.5 or 4 to get full faces in focus.

To keep the same exposure am I right in thinking I am gonna have to up to flash power to full 1/1 power or will I get the same effect by increasing the iso.

I'm hopefully right in thinking that shutter speed is for ambient light and aperture is what is directly associated with flash.

Cheers

Correct, Aperture affects flash power, shutter ambient light, and ISO both.

To counteract a smaller aperture, either raise the flash power, or raise the ISO

Cheers, as I thought then.

Upping the ISO to 400 should do the trick then, really want to avoid 1/1 flash power for the recycle times.

Thats what I'd do - you can get away with 400 or even 800 if you're on a modern body that has decent noise control.
