Sigma 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 EX DG HSM II I was thinking of buying one has anybody tried this lens.
 
Sweet I would like to use it with 7d when it comes in stock lol
 
@ TCR - you haven't used the II version as they aren't available yet as far as I know.

To the OP, there are better lenses for ultra wide use on a crop camera. The reason the 12-24 is so popular is that it's the widest FF rectilinear zoom lens available.

As far as I know it hasn't been released yet, I have the 1st version on a D700 and it is very very wide and has very low distortion, so great for architecture. I paid £300 for mine, the new one is likely to be 3 times that so I don't think I'll be upgrading :lol:
 
yes I have just been looking need something to go with 70 200 f4is and in the last 2 years my sigma 70 300 has been glued to my 400d lol
 
Mine is my most used zoom.

I've previously owned a Canon 10-22mm but I much prefer the Siggy and personally find it to suffer from less distortion and vignetting plus of course it works on my 35mm film SLR.

Ddidnt see the II, didnt even know there was another version. If its not released yet, slim chance anyone on here has used it then.
 
Ah yes, forget everything I said as I've had mine years.
 
I would love to own the siggy too, have used it for a day while out with a friend and its absolutly awesome.
