Hi there,

I've been offered a Sigma 70-200mm Non macro lens and was wondering if it's a good'un for rally togging?

Also, is it any good with a TC?

Thanks

Peredur

P.S Will it fit in my slingshot 200?

Cheers

Cracking lens and its used a lot in the motorsport field.....good luck:thumbs:

ive just bought one but the mkII and its never ever being taken off the camera. i love it n i would also like to know if the mkII is any good with a x1.4 tc.

I use it,With the TC too,The 1.4 one

Heres a shot at 200mm f/2.8 pretty sharp!

And I shoot rallies,Bike racing rugby and it does well:

This was shot with a 1.4tc at f/5.6(an attempt to get some motion blur!)

Any other questions I'll try to answer :)

Apparently it's as very nearly as good as Nikon's version that costs £1500 !!!
superb lens  i paid £350 for mine :p

I have one, and I love it! It takes a little getting used to, it's pretty heavy (although I quite like that), and there's not much depth of field when using f/2.8 at close ranges, but considering how little it costs compared to the Canon/Nikon/Sony equivalents, you can't really go wrong!

My Sigma never broke down! Wish i could say the same for the much more expensive Nikon. One month old & af packed up.

Thanks all for your feedback

Made my mind up now pending post-christmas finances

I'd have to disagree with that,At f/2.8 once I've focused the slightest of movement can make the shot out of focus..

Should have been clearer, when I say 'there's not much depth of field', I mean that the depth of field is very thin ('not much' is in focus). I thought I'd got a soft copy when I first started using it, but it was entirely down to user error, and needs good technique to get the best out of it!

Ah right! That's the same "issue" I have with mine,But I could bump up the aperture to f/4 but I love f/2.8 :D
