what 1 would you buy? ok guys im on a tight budget and was/ would be looking at 2nd hand was looking on the bay but some are a stones throw away from £300 now i see in some of the adds in the photography mags there around £340-£399 new i can get the tamron just out side the city center for $349.99 new so im thinking of saving some more till i get to the price of the tamron rather than buying a 2nd hand lens i dont know the history of, any 1 got the sigma or the tamron and can post some photos taken with them?

Hi Rab, the Sigma's a great Lens. Out of the 2 you mention i'd go for that.
What camera have you got? i've just put up mine in the classifieds if you've a Canon body!

Kind of! he's a boxer cross (no idea with what! rescue dog).
