Sigma 10-20 on 5Dmk2

Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM Lens

Hi all, I am probably being dumb (as usual) but will this lens mount on a 5D mk 2? From what I can make out on the web, it will mount, but as it is designed for an APS-C sensor, on FF it will come in at 16mm equiv at the short end.

i think if you put this on a FF you'll get the APS-C halo around the image .. not a lens to be used FF from what i can remember

sigma DC lenses shouldnt be used on 1.3x or FF sensors, youll get large vigenetting and/or the protruding rear element may interfer with the mirror.

sigma DG range is what you want, sigma 12-24 for example.

I will physically mount onto the body without a problem, but as above, you'll get a big black ring around the outside - that lens is designed to project light onto a smaller sensor than the 5D has, so it's not capable of working with a full frame sensor.

No. That's only only an issue with Canon EF-S lenses which will not mount anyway without surgery.

I've used Siggy and other APS-C lenses on full frame (film) without issue.
