Sigma 10-20 problem

Anyone had or heard of problems on Sigma 10-20mm lens where the lens seems to be stuck on DOF preview?
When I look through the camera it looks like when the DOF button is pressed. All other lenses are ok on camera and the photograph comes out ok

What leads you to believe that this is so? Don't forget, it's a dark lens - f/4-f/5.6 - the VF is not going to look overly bright at the best of times.

Well the lens was fine then all of a sudden it now has that "fuzzy" apearance the same as when you use the DOF preview button.

If anything, using DOF preview would make the image less fuzzy because you've stopped down and increased DOF. If you stop down on the camera, then press the DOF preview button, does the VF darken? Alternatively, does the VF darken when you zoom from 10mm through to 20mm, and get lighter again when you go back? If so, your problem is not stuck aperture blades or anything to do with the DOF preview button.

If the picture is fuzzy it sounds to me like the lens is stuck at closest focus distance or maybe isn't mounting properly.

Could you take a photograph and post it here with the EXIF data intact?

if you look through the lens itself without the body attached does the view through appear narrowed - i.e. is the aperture physically stopped down/jammed?

Perhaps "fuzzy" was the wrong term to use, sorry. It's the same effect as when you use the DOF button, it sort of makes the view darker and "noisy" in appearance. Thiking about it I'm thinking along the lines of stuck apature blades. Looking into the lens the hole does seem very small.

Try fiddling with the aperture lever on the lens mount using a small blunt object like a pen or something to see if the blades opens and returns. Alternatively, as other has mention. looks through the VF in A mode at max aperture f4.5, then at a small one f/22pressing the dof button. If the aperture blades are okay, then the VF should seem darker.

If you look down the front of the lens are the blades actually stuck? You will see better form the rear.

Also, does it go back if you dismount the lens.

Should you need a repair then going direct to Sigma is the best option.
