Sigma 105 f2.8 Macro EX OS query

I have just purchased the Sigma 105 f2.8 macro lens. The lens is giving very sharp and acceptable images.
However when I am focusing it is making a "chattering" noise. I think this is from the OS.
Is this normal for this lens or is there a fault with it.
If any other owners could give me advise on this I would be most grateful.

Are you using it on AI Servo (or the equivalent for your camera). My Canon 100 macro does make a similar noise if I leave the camera in AI Servo, I often switch to Manual Focus with macro and that stops the noise. I suspect the noise is from the OS/IS system as you say, mine has been doing this since I got it and it still works perfectly.

Cheers Stuart. I did some Googling and it seems normal with this lens. Must say it's a cracking lens.
