sigma 105 macro

Excellent for the price .. though I believe the Tamron 90mm f/2.8 is said to be slightly better

Mind, for bother macro and portrait shots the Sigma is  all the way.

thank you both for your comments i think i will be saving up to get one now as i love macro, will the sigma focus on a small group of people or is it just best for one person at a time?

What do you mean by that? It will focus on whatever you place in the focus point.

If you mean will a small group of people "fit" in shot when using the lens - it depends how far away you are. If what you want to shoot doesn't fit, move further back :)

sorry i did not explain very well, but you answered the question for me as it is a macro i was unsure if it would focus on a group (a larger area) than if you would when shooting macro.

A macro lens will work exactly the same as a std lens but will focus alot closer (if needed) and allow 1:1 reproduction. The picture in this thread was taken with a 150mm Sigma macro :)

Ah ok... been answered now anyway, but yes it can
