Does anyone use a Sigma 120-400 APO OS HSM lens on a Canon 400D body?

If you do please help me decide wether or not to buy one of these lenses?

Can someone please post some example bird images taken with the sigma 120-400 APO OS HSM?

I would like a canon 100-400 IS but cannot justify spending a grand on a lens just now but can manage 500 quid!

Hi Markie and welcome to TP.

I don't have any experience of that lens. However you might want to bear in mind that it appears to be one of the most unreliable lenses on the market. The guys at LensRentals in the USA have been tabulating failure statistics (they're probably the only people who have enough data to be able to do this!) and you can see the results here.
 
Yes, from what I've heard they are quite unreliable - so buy new and be prepared to send it to sigma for calibration. After that it will probably be a cracking lens
