Yes
I am looking to get something a bit longer for Sport (Cricket) and wildlife and wondered if we have any users on here who could advise on the plus and minus points of the lenses.
I am looking to buy used so are there different versions of the lenses that I might have compatibility problems with,I have a Canon 60D and 1Ds Mk1

You would be better off spending some extra cash and looking at either the 50-500 OS or 150-500mm OS. The sigma 135-400mm very average optics, the 170-500mm very slow autofocus, heavy, no OS and soft wide open so you'll need to stop it down and it's already f6.3 so poor light will be a issue.

Thanks for that Pete sadly those 2 lenses are at the moment out of my price range

I had the same quandary last year but I decided to spend the extra on a Sigma 150-500 using my credit card, I sold some stuff on Ebay to pay it off, glad I did because I wouldn't have been happy with the other cheaper options, well pleased with my decision.
