Sigma 150-500 Autofocus

A recent story in Amateur Photographer said that certain examples of these lenses had an autofocus glitch.

I'm trying to find if my lens has that the problem but can't find the bit of paper that had the serial number on!

There's a barcode on the box the lens came in but that seems too many digits.

It's not hidden on the lens somewhere is it?!!!

Any help given much appreciated on trying to find the serial number or what the glitch is.

Just had a look at the Sigma website and they say the problem relates to ones produced recently. So hopefully I'm ok!

Although if anyone can help on serial number I'd be grateful.

Mines on the opposite side of the lens to the focus distance window , near the mount.

I never spotted the 7 digit number there! So as the story only affects the ones listed on the AP news item, and they are 8 digits, I'm ok. Phew!
