Has anyone had any experience with this lens. I have a Nikon D5000 will this lens adapt to this model, also what benefits will i get from this lens over my Nikon 70-300 VR. Any comments and advice welcome.
 
There have been plenty of threads on this lens, though maybe Canon mount, noty that that should make any difference. The best value way to get to 500mm.

I have this lens and love it. Van be soft sometimes at 500 mm but I knew that before I brought it. It's heavy when holding for long periods but I have a monopod that I use with it most of the time.
From 150 through to 400 I've found it pretty Sharp.@500 I try where possible to have it f8 seems to be more consistent.
 
Ok thanks chaps for the info. Ken was that photo taken at 500mm if not still a cracker.

They all look great pics. Thinking about something with more reach than the 70-300 nikon how does this compare to the 50-500 OS at 500mm?
