Sigma 150-500 OS with TC?

Hi all,

I've seen a couple of threads that say it can be done, but they rarely have any images to see how they work out, nor do they say specifically which TC is being used.

I'm hoping some of you can answer that for me, also were I to get one would it work with the other lenses in my sig?

There is a dedicated sigma one or you can get a kenko that will work with other lenses though which lenses in your sig would you want to use it with ?
You will be really pushing it with a 2x. I have a 1.4x with a sigma 120-400 and to be honest it hardly ever gets used and I have more room to play with compared with the 150-500.
 
I used to have a 150-500 and with a Kenko 1.4x focus used to hunt continually so it was useless.......
 
clownfish, I was just thinking that although I would want it for the 150-500 it would be nice if it played well with others such as the Tamron 70-300.

I have boith 1.4 and 2X Sigma TC's which I use with my 150-500, I presume they would work with other lenses, but since my other lenses are EFS they don't fit them.

Ken, hows that effecting autofocus (I assume you loose it on x2) and f stops?

Quality looks okay though - are those cropped?

EDIT (posted at the same time) - ooo, lost of MFs in there :(

You lose Autofocus unless shooting with 1D series, tape trick doesn't work successfully, in any case manual focusing isn't that difficult, well, except for perhaps birds in flight :lol:
 
Oh, I've tried my eyesight just isn't up to manual focus
 
Just wondering if this is the same with the 100-400 or if thats a little more friendly as I'd love both clarity and reach without breaking the bank (or my arm when I carry it!)
