I am contemplating purchasing a canon 70-200 f2.8 non is as my budget wont allow at this time.
As i already have a sigma 150 f/2.8 i tried to fit my canon 1x4 extender, but it wont fit neither will the 2x. I have recently been told that the sigma 1x4 and the 2x extenders will fit (canon fit) Has anyone ever used this combination and if so what kind of results did you get.
I realise it would place the 150 at f/4 instead of f/2.8 . But i am shooting some indoor sports in next few weeks and it would be interesting to know if this would be suitable >or do i go ahead and get the 70-200 non is.
Thanks for any input.

I used my sigma 150 with a kenko 1.4 and a sigma 1.4.

Quality wise it was fine, but it didn't add a huge amount of difference in terms of magnification, just a longer working distance. The thing to bear in mind in the AF already isn't very quick, with the TC on, it's even slower.

I'd rather have a 70-200 f/2.8 non-IS than the Sigma 150mm + 1.4x - you're losing a stop and focussing speed vs the zoom.

I've used the canon fit 150mm sigma F2.8 non OS macro lens extensively and I'd never have used it for sports as the AF is just too slow on it. The TC would slow that down even further making your hit rate retardedly low.

Thanks for you comments .Its about what i thought but its always good to hear what others think. I bought it originally for macro work ,but lost interest .So its not being used . Time to sell and go for the 70-200 i think.
