Hi, I've just started using my Sigma 150mm macro OS (2 years old) on my 7D2 and am getting underexposure of between 1 and 2 stops depending on how close I get to my subjects. My thoughts are that somehow, the camera isn't seeing the light loss as the lens is extended. Perhaps this is a firmware update issue with Sigma? Has anyone else seen this? Thanks.

Have you got Peripheral Illumination correction enabled? The Sigma 150 shares the same tag as the original EF 100-400 and later bodies have been found to apply the correction erroneously.....more obvious on crop bodies as the bulk of the correction isn't within the frame.

I have, thanks Bob I'll try that tonight and let you know.

Don't forget that it can be instigated in-camera and in your PP software (depending which you use).

Nope, that didn't work. Works perfectly on my "old" 7D1. Guess I'll have to contact Sigma unless anyone else has any thoughts.

Ah sorry....I was almost certain that it would be the cause. It's been found to be the case with the 105/150/180 macros when used on 1Dx and 5D3's but not on any older bodies.

My 105mm was like that on my 1Dx but worked fine on my 1Dmkiii so just used it on that till I changed to a Canon lens.

Thanks anyway Bob, I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

I've e-mailed Sigma so will post their response.

When will Canon produce a 150-180mm macro with IS I wonder??

Just had word back from Sigma confirming that they recognise this as a problem and are working on a firmware update.
