Hi everyone,

Just a quick question regarding this lens. I recently got one of these and when mounted to my D7000, it hunted like crazy and wouldn't lock focus at all. This was in good light and right out of the box.

How many of you own this lens and have any of you experienced this same problem or other problems with it.

I was wondering should I get it replaced, and give this lens model a second chance. Or should I just get a refund and buy something else in the price range by another brand? Thanks in advance

Sounds like a fault, this lens is very highly regarded.

That's what I thought too. I have seen a lot of reviews on this lens and it is indeed highly regarded. But after I received the lens and it was faulty out the box, I googled to see if it was a common problem with this particular model.

What turned up was quite a few consumer ratings and reviews saying that they are experiencing similar focusing issues, after a short period of usage, if not right out the box. Has got me a little concerned, I have never owned a third party lens on dslr so I have nothing to compare it to.

So I just wondered if any forum members here also own or have owned this lens and can give me an insight in to their experience with it. thanks in advance.

Bought one about a year ago for my 60D, very sharp and accurate, it is my walking lens and indoors too, and used heavily. Must have been a bad copy.
