Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 EX DC OS HSM v Nikon 35mm

Currently have the Nikon 35mmprime but was considering purchasing the Sigma 17-50 f2.8 for my Nikon d600. I would appreciate any feedback on the sigma lens compared to the 35mm Nikon one.

D600? the Sigma 17-50 isn't compatible with full frame I'm afraid.

Nikon AF 24-85mm f/2.8-4D IF-ED?

Would work fine on full frame, never tried one myself but I have tried the newer 24-85 VR thats the D600 "kit lens" and thought it was decent, the D you are looking at is meant to be better.

Thanks Chris, love my 35mm prime but it's DX format and the 24-85 would give more flexibility whilst retaining excellent quality. The one on mpb is mint as well.
