sigma 17-70

Hi all just wondered if anyone has any user knowledge of this lens :-
Sigma 17-70 mm f/2.8-4.0 DC Macro OS HSM.

I was thinking of a walkabout lens for a nikon D300s. Thanks.

I had the 2.8-4.5 version on a Canon. Loved it. Sharp as a tack. Great lens. I'd have another on a cropper.

thanks trevor, i am seriously thinking of getting it, its on at £299 new, and with me and the wife going to cyprus in 3 weeks i thought it would make a good walkabout lens?, or am i wrong?.

It's a great walkabout. Loved mine !
