I would say the 18-50 because of the constant 2.8......

although the 17-70 is a cracking lens for the money

I just received my Sigma 17-70 F2.8 - 4 DC MACRO OS today and I already love it. Good price from Amazon £311, great focal range and solid build quality. I hope to post some pics soon
