Hi all, I've reading into macro photography lately and I have the new sigma 17-70 contemporary lens which has a 1:2.8 macro ability. It has a minimum focus distance of 22cms so pretty close already.
I've been looking at extension tubes, but from my understanding these allow the lens to focus at closer distances and given that I can already get within 22cms I'm not sure these are what I want?
What are people's opinions on macro filters?
Or would extension tubes on my 70-300 Nikon be a better option?
So basically, what's my best options for getting into macro without spending hundreds of pounds. Don't think I can convince the gf after buying the d7100.
On that note, the d7100 also has the 1.3x function. Would this help me at all?
