Sigma 18-125mm DC on a D300

Would a Sigma 18-125mm DC fit on a D300 and work the same as any other lenses and if so what would the aperture be?

Providing it's a Nikon mount... And what do you mean what would the aperture be? It would be what it says on the lens.
