Sigma 18-250 problem?

Hi,

If anyone has the new Sigma 18-250mm HSM OS lens have you noticed (or can you check) if when you turn the camera off you get a vibration and also if you looking through the viewfinder when you power off you see some movement of the glass / mirror? :thinking:

My camera only does it with this lens attached so I wondered if anyone else gets the same thing?

That will be the image stabilisation shutting down and causing the image to wobble, I imagine. This will cause the vibration as well.
 
I've got the Canon kit lens with IS and that doesn't do anything like it. It actually looks like the mirror dropping but then this is all still quite new to me. It just doesn't seem right???
 
I have a Canon kit lens and I have never noticed the IS either, but you have a lens with a much longer focal length there so more glass and bits and bobs.

Maybe someone else with this lens can come along and confirm (or not) my thoughts.
 
Is it possible to turn the lens IS off and see if the symptoms go away?
 
Have just tried that and it makes no difference. It would be really good if someone with the same lens could try it and see if they have the same thing? Thanks.
 
Quickest way to find out rather than waiting for punters to reply is,
if it new take it back to the shop you bought itfrom.
show it to the sales man and after he see's it ask to try another lens of the same type to see if it does it with that IF it doe'snt ask for a replacement as yours may be faulty
 
Bought it online from Warehouse Express and didn't want to go through the hassle of sending it back if that is just something that it does! :shrug:

I got the Sigma 18-250 about 2 weeks ago and I have noticed the exact same thing with mine. I'm using a 500d. I'm kinda happy you have the same thing because it's more likely now that it is "normal".

Although I would like a diffinitive answer if anyone has one?
