Seems to be very clunky when OS on, is it a broken lens?

I have a Sigma 120-300 os. If the os system is the same as mine there should be no confusion as to whether the os is on as you can feel the vibration whilst panning. There is also a very distinct "clunk" as it engages when you half press the shutter.

All this talk of vibration and clunking make it sound bad but it is a very good system.

Did you bother to get it sorted or just use it as it was?

Had the same with my sigma 120-400...annoying as hell, thought it was broke too.

Hmmm in that case it appears it may be on permanently! As I don't do tripods I guess it is not the end of the world but minor irritation nonetheless

Just used it as it was.

I would get it fixed, OS is powered by the camera battery so if it's on permanently I would imagine you would have a lot less shots per charge. It's also likely to wear out the OS faster.

Was a lens i had in mind,, now makes me think ,, ill have to save more for the Nikon ,, why cant Sigma get it right
