I've got the 18-200mm OS and though it has it's limitations it is a great all day lens.
Obviously when you start cramming lots of zoom into any lens the quality starts to decrease and things like barrel distortion, chromatic abberation and fringing become more prominent.

The 18-200mm OS is a good zoom range that is quite usable for a wide range of subjects, even at 200mm f6.3 it can close focus for pleasing macro shots and it focuses quicker than my old Canon 17-85mm. In my experience it can suffer with softness towards the edges but overall it's pretty good.

I've not had a moment with it where the lens has ruined a shot, thats my job. I had the 18-200mm for over a year, sold it and a year later I bought another one cos I enjoyed it that much. I did think about buying the 18-250mm or the Tamron 18-270mm but in the end I went back to what I was happy with.

The 18-250mm has more zoom and the added bonus of HSM so it's quieter. I'm sure there'll be some online reviews that will have put it through its paces.

thanks for the review, sounds promising.

basically want to use it as an all round lens, so for landscapes, studio work etc.
