Sigma 18-50 2.8 and Tamron 17-50 2.8

i had the sigma "macro" and it was tack sharp.. great walkabout lens.

incidentally i say "had" as i moved body to a 1D and it only works on crop so had to sell it. only reason i sold it.

Get the Tamron NON-VC if you go Tamron. I bought the 17-50 2.8 VC and it was the softest lens I've ever used. Sold if after about 3 weeks and 2 shoots....

I can recommend the tamron, great lens for the price, just dont expect it to be built like a tank!
