Calling any sigma 24-70 users

Just bought a second hand one of these and I notice that the zoom ring is fairly stiff at the 24mm end, is this normal or should I be concerned with anything.

Going to do some comparison shots – will post these when finished

Thanks

Mines pretty stiff too when extending from 24mm, but iirc, someone posted the other week that it's stiff because otherwise, the extendy part of the lens would wobble.

it was someone comparing the sigma to the tamron..

It's easy to live with, it's not like it's REALLY stiff, just more stiff than that at the 50-70 rangeish

This is something I've noticed on several sigma lenses. Their 24-70 and 70-200 are both much stiffer than the canon L equivalents. Does anyone know why this might be?

To slow how slack & wobbly the Canon ones are .

What people get confused about is that the L stands for low quality in the Canon range ;)

(I've got both of the Sigmas :D)
