Sigma 24-70 locked up

Dooohhhhhh, mid wedding reception yesterday and my 24-70 zoom ring locked up and would only near focus. Obviously had a spare, popped into Jessops this morning who are going to send it away tommorow. Any body had issues like this and Sigma service/repair ratings. Any one? Little worried as i am waiting for my Sigma 70-200.

It's been said before and it'll no doubt be said again - Sigmas can be great or they can fail for no reason whatsoever.

You've now experienced one that falls into the latter category.

Hopefully, it will come back good as new. A little disconcering at the time, but hey ho, the show must go on. Time for an 85mm 1.8 me thinks.

When I got my sigma 70-300, it was all locked up, had to turn the zoom ring and push it inwards at the same time to release it, now it works fine, what had happened was the zoom ring was misaligned
