Sigma 300mm 2.8

Hi

What do people think of this lens.
I currently have a 100-400mm 5.6 and would like to keep it if i got this lens.
But what do you people think of the lens is it worth the ££?

I had one for a week. Loaned to me by my dealer. I really liked it. Good sharp copy.

the 120-300 F2.8 is allegedly sharper, and certainly more flexible.

I've had both, but to me they're about as sharp as each other.

i heard the 120-300 is just as sharp with converter also?

So do you reckon either are better than the 100-400?

what other lenses do you have, if you have a 70-200/2.8 buy the siggy no doubt but if not it might be too much of a gap to cover?

I'm a Nikon man - so everything's better than the 100-400

i have

10-20
90mm macro
18-55mm
100 - 400mm

The reason is i am going to the pantanal possibly next year for 3 months and wondered if something faster would be good.

I went to Fiji this year and in constant bright light the 100-400mm was awesome just in murky England it is a bit of a let down sometimes.

I love my 300 siggy tbh. Even takes a 2x very well for 600mm of naughtyness!
