Sigma 30mm 1.4 overexposing?

Does anyone else have this problem? I thought it was just me but I did a search and saw that it's quite a common thing, even Ken Rockwell alludes to it and says that he tends to use exposure compensation of -0.7 to combat it. I've tried that and it does seem to work, but I'm wondering if anyone else has this issue when wide open?
 
not with that particular lens - but, depending on subject, having to dial in -0.7 ev on Nikon bodies isn't uncommon
 
I noticed it on a day out with my kids last week, almost all of the shots looked too exposed and had to be toned down. According to my research, this seems to be common when wide open and/or with flash, which is where I noticed it.
 
Another vote from me for permanent -0.7 EV on the D90/D300...

Nikon's idea of perfect exposure differs from mine :D
 
Yup.

Certainly on my D300 you can via the menus dial in a base exposure compensation (which isn't displayed when shooting, it just becomes the base from which you can make on the fly adjustments with the dial as you shoot).

So if I decide I need to cancel it out while shooting, I dial in +0.7 and then its back to where Nikon reckon it should be.... :D
 
That's interesting, I might give it a go for a while, I'll certainly be doing that on the Sigma anyway. I've only noticed it after stepping up from a D60, never had the problem with that.
 
Had to dial in the old -0.7 on my D80 esp with the 30mm f/1.4
Easy to correct in NX if you forget and are shooting RAW though.
 
Same here, -0.7EV. Used to do this on the D50, now same on D90 along with centre weighted metering. Also shoot raw and use Lightroom, so easy to fix if it is out a bit.
