Hi,

Thinking about getting the Sigma 30mm f1.4 EX DC But not sure if to or not because I have the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8, Iam getting into primes so would it be worth it or not to bother, I was wanting it for a good Street, small and bokeh lens what do you think?

Thanks in advance,

Joe

I really like my sigma 30mm f1.4, nice light ish walkabout lens.

Whats the Focusing Speed Like?

focusing is quick but i was using it on a canon. I used mine for street work and had no issue with at all, infact it rarely came off my 550D

Fast enough on my Nikon I would say...Haven't gone out of my way to test/measure it, but never felt it lacking...

Here are a couple of snaps I have readily available online. Straight out of camera, and quick snap...This was for Movember when I had a photo challenge of paying £1 per moustache wearing person photo...

Thanks for the info, Do you think its worth having the lens as I have a 24-70mm f/2.8 Nikon in my bag?

I do :) Well did to be accurate, since my Nikon and 24-70f2.8 were stolen :'(

Let's just say, many people on the street would turn away pointing a 24-70 in their direction ;)

I do yes, having the 3 extra stops of light is a massive help, and if you are good with PS you can always stitch images together for wider angles.

my lens collection at the time was a sigma 18-50 f2.8, tokina 11-16 f2.8 and the sigma 30mm f1.4, as you can see i had some overlap in focal lengths but i loved my 30mm, it was hardly off my camera.

i like it so much that when i went FF with my 6D i bought the sigma 35mm f1.4 art line.

I love sigma lenses ;)
