Been impressed with the image quality produced by this Sigma. Anyone who has used one care to say what their impressions are in respect of the build quality.
E.g. does it feel a robust piece of kit; do all controls operate smoothly and positively; no excessive "play" etc.

Just packed mine up and posted it off (changing systems) but that lens is infinitely better feeling in the hand than any other Sigma I've had/held. it's plastic but feels weighty and robust, no play, smooth manual focus ring.

Thanks, Joe. When I read your first few words I thought you were about to say that it was a snider.

Thanks, Joe. When I read your first few words I thought you were about to say that it was a snider.:thumbs:
 
The lens looks and feels very good. IMHO it was made with a lot of attention to detail, and I feel that the build quality is excellent. However, it should be bought in a shop, as I've read here on TP about apparently not all of them being properly adjusted out of the factory, so you may need to give it back or have it adjusted.

There's also the Sigma USB dock which allows you to adjust the lens yourself on the computer, I like this.

Thanks, from time to time quality control issues with Sigma get mentioned. Once a dog get's a bad name .................. !!
