Sigma 50-500 or 150-500

I have been looking at possibly getting one of these two lens, the Sigma 50-500 OS DG APO HSM or the 150-500 OS DG APO HSM for some wildlife photography. Now the 50-500 is a 10x zoom lens, so I presume that some image quality (sharpness) will disappear at the far extreme ends of zoom, whilst the 150-500 is only a 3.3x zoom, which should be better throughout its zoom range.

So my question is, has anyone had experience of both these lens, as the 50-500 looks more useful, but if image quality suffers (especially at the 500 end) then I would go for the 150-500 as it is a lot cheaper anyway.
 
The latest 50-500 is said to be very slightly better than the 150-500 IQ wise. I have the 150-500 and have no complaints, I sometimes wonder if the additional range would be useful but have only had one occasion when I wish I had it as it spends 99% of the time at 500mm
 
the 50-500mm os is sharper at the 500mm end i would say at 500mm f6.3 is about the same as the 150-500mm at 500mm f8,
have had both is the 50-500mm worth the extra simple answer yes, as i use the 50mm alot to,

Thanks for the prompt reply's, I was hoping that the 50-500 would be as good or better than the 150-500 as it make's for a much more usable zoom range, especially if I go on a safari where I would not want to keep changing lens. This lens would be used on cropped D200 and Full frame D700.
