sigma 50-500 OS or not

Hi ,
looking at possibly buying one of these for canon fit , simple question for those who have had the experience is the OS version worth the extra £600 ?

i love my 50-500mm os its my fav lens, to me its worth it, but if you wont use the 50mm much buy the 150-500mm os, the 50-500mm os is sharper wide open at 500mm vow.

thanks for the quick reply scott , I had read one of your posts. Probably will be used mainly at long end and wide open so might need to be the OS
Only prob is I dinged my 300-800 two weeks ago and sigma are quoting £1K for repairs and worse still could be weeks-months before parts available
Hopefully covered with household insurance

well look at both the 50-500mm and the 150-500mm os as the 150-500mm is cheaper, but the 50-500mm os is better.
