Anyone care to share any of there photos taken with this lens . As I am thinking very hard about a long lens and this is on my hit list at the moment..

I would prefer shots taken at 500mm But some at 50mm would also be nice.....

Regards MD.

"Ps I shoot with a canon"

Just did a search on the groups on flickr and there is a 150-500 as well some interesting stuff in that as well.

So far its a far cheaper option than a 400mm with converters......

These were all shot with the "Bigma" at the F1 @ Silverstone in 2006.

Excuse the wierd angles, I know some people hate them.

Flickr properties reports that the last two were both shot at 500mm. Click on the image for the larger version.

The lens is typically a "birder" lens, but can work for other purposes if the light is good enough as it's F/6.3 at the long end.

Cheers,

Paul.

I wonder why that is

Bob

I am aware of the reason your thinking of Bob.

And having used your 400mm " which I was impressed with" It is a cost issue.

Would a sigma be that much behind a 400mm with 1.4 on it.. ?

My 200mm 2.8 siggy I have is as sharp as a sharp thing.. Could a 500mm not be the same...?

Regards Dave

Hey Dave - I ended up getting rid of mine. I was more than happy with my 70-300mm +EC1.4x which gave me nearly as much reach. As for IQ - I found it very good, but when compared to the 70-300mm +1.4x combo, wasn't that much better.

Not missed it really, besides... I am a W I D E chap of late. :)
