Sigma 50-500mm upgrade help

I have a Sigma 50-500mm non OS that appears to have gone off the boil so to speak, as I am struggling to get decent focus with it. I have enroute a Sigma 70-200mm 2.8 OS and already have a 1.4 x Sigma converter in the bag so do I
i) Send the 50-500mm off to Sigma for a service

ii) Trade it against a 150-500mm OS

iii) Trade it in against a 50-500mm OS

iv) Buy a Sigma 2x converter for the 70-200

v) Take up another hobby :thinking:

If you send it off to Sigma describing the fault they will give you an estimate before doing any work. If you think it's too expensive then they will return it for the price of postage.

I traded mine in for the OS version and have to say IQ wise I don't see much difference but the OS does help immensely when shooting at 500mm handheld.

Wouldn't put a 2x converter on the Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 ... just not a great combination tbh.
