Sigma 50mm F1.4 - Inconsistent AF?

Hi all

I have just received my replacement Sigma 50mm F1.4 EX DG HSM. The first one was very soft.

On paper it should match that of the Canon Nifty Fifty @ F/1.8 but I'm scratching my head a little with it as the AF seems not 100%.

All of these are 100% crops.

This appears to be good. Very happy with that!

However inside now...

What's happened there?! I'm consistently getting soft shots inside, it seems.

The same shot now taken with live view on the left.

Micro adjusting doesn't seem to be helping either.

I love the bokeh but I think I'm about to give up on this lens.

Any other Sigma 50 1.4 owners have any suggestions?

You say it's a replacement...can you elaborate?

I have a Canon 5DMK3

The first copy that I had I sent back to the place of purchase as it was worse than this. This is a brand new one.
